Snack – children are provided with a daily snack which are kept healthy yet interesting. Where possible, children are consulted with the daily snack planning. 

Dental programme – the nursery is supplied by the health board with toothbrushes and toothpaste for all children at Acrewood. The Dental Hygienist visits every 6 weeks to change the brushes and chat with the children about their toothbrushing.

Keyworkers – every child is appointed a keyworker when they start nursery or move into a new room. This person will be responsible for filling in your child’s daily diary and Starting Points profile document. Although your child will have this keyworker, all staff in the playroom will be aware of your child’s individual routine.

Settling In –every child is offered 2 weeks of settling in time prior to starting nursery. This is free of charge.

Security – The nursery has CCTV cameras and securely locked doors and outside garden gates. If someone other than yourself is collecting your child, we must know in advance or we will not let your child go. 

Policies – The nursery has a vast range of policies and procedures. You can ask to see a copy of these when you come to visit.

Parental Involvement – We appreciate that parents have busy lives between working and family but we would like to make parents feel welcome in the nursery. This is why we regularly consult with parents and invite you to come into nursery for parents evenings, parents meetings and social events. You are also welcome to come into nursery to help out, if and when possible.
