Welcome to the Hazel and the Rowan Rooms!!

This is a bright, open large playroom for toddlers aged 2-3 years. Amongst the many activities going on this room, children are encouraged to take part in singing, art activities, music and movement and drama. With the large windows in the room, the children have successfully grown their own tomatoes and planting and caring for plants in the garden is a part of this room too. The Rowan Room has direct access to the nursery garden and play area and utilise this area on a daily basis.

Staff recognise that at this age many children are beginning to toilet train. Staff in this age group are well experienced at dealing with this and are happy to talk over and work with you to make this time as easy as possible for you and your child

At the end of your child’s nursery day, you can expect to have verbal feedback from staff regarding your child’s day but you will also receive a daily diary with information written in it such what your child did that day, what they had to eat, sleep times etc. Parents are welcome to add their own reports to this for staff to find out what your child did over the weekend. 

The ratio in the Rowan Room is one adult for every five children. These are guidelines set by the Scottish Care Commission.
