What are your opening times?
Our opening times are 8am to 6pm.  We do have a special arrangement that can be set up as we are registered from 7.40am.  However, this depends on availability.

What do we have to provide?
You are required to provide your child with disposable nappies, wipes, juice (if required) and their food for the day.  Any food that is provided must be cooked and fully defrosted before it is brought into nursery.  Tinned food and jars are fine.  All rooms have microwaves for heating up your childs food and probes for recording the temperature of the food.

Do the children receive a snack?
Yes, the nursery will provide your child with a mid morning snack which we always try to make as healthy as possible.  Fruit is always provided along with this snack.  The nursery also offers your child a drink of water or milk.

What if my child has a food allergy?
The staff have all dealt with a number of various food allergies.  However, we ask the parents to keep the staff informed of your childs allergy and any development with it.

Do I have to pay for my child if they do not attend the nursery?
Yes, you are required to pay your childs fees even if your child does not attend nursery.  However, if your child is absent for a long period of time you may be entitled to a discount in your fees.  Please refer to the terms and conditions for reference.

Do you have a settling in period?
Yes, we encourage all parents/carers to settle their child into nursery over a period of one or two weeks.  This would involve your child being brought into the nursery for a couple of hours a day, each day your child would be attending nursery.  Parents do have the offer to stay with their child the first couple of visits, however, we do encourage the parents/carers to leave the child in the playroom with the staff and other children.  Parents/Carers can stay in the nursery in our "Parents Room".  This can be a difficult time for both the child and the parent and staff realise these emotions are present.  Settling in time can obviously vary depending on each individual child.

Are your premises inspected and can I see the reports?
Yes, we are annually inspected by the Care Commission and also have a HMI Inspection once every three years.  As a partnership nursery with the local authority we are given regular support and challenge visits from our early childhood link officer.  Our most recent inspection report is on display in the main entrance hall for all to see.  The Care Commission reports are also accessible through the internet.
